FAQ's

Why are my brakes making a high-pitched squealing noise?
A squealing sound is usually a built-in warning from your brake pads indicating they are worn low and need replacing. It’s the sound of a small metal indicator scraping against the rotor. Shutterstock If you ignore this, the noise will eventually turn into a harsh metal-on-metal grinding sound, which means the pads are completely gone and you are damaging the expensive rotors. Book a check immediately to save money on bigger repairs.
My brake pedal feels "spongy" and goes almost to the floor. What’s wrong?
A soft or spongy brake pedal is a serious safety warning. It typically means there is air in the brake lines, a leak in the hydraulic system, or your master cylinder is failing. This significantly increases your stopping distance. We can flush the brake fluid to remove air bubbles or repair the leak to restore a firm, responsive pedal feel.
How do I know if my clutch needs replacing?
The most common sign of a worn clutch is "slipping"—this happens when you accelerate, and the engine revs go up, but the car doesn't gain speed efficiently. You might also notice a burning smell, difficulty changing gears, or a high bite point on the clutch pedal. Clutch replacements are a major job, but our skilled mechanics use quality kits to get your manual transmission shifting smoothly again.
My steering wheel shakes when I brake. Is that a suspension issue?
While it can be suspension, shaking specifically when you hit the brake pedal is usually caused by "warped" brake rotors. Uneven wear or overheating causes the disc to become uneven, sending vibrations through the pedal and steering wheel. Depending on the thickness of the rotor, we can often machine (resurface) them to be flat again, or simply replace them if they are too thin.
